GET a WEB LIFE !

A “web lifestyle” family will be one that wholeheartedly embraces the Internet and adopts as many as possible of the 9 ways of the Web Lifestyle outlined on this website and in my book FUTURE LIVING. Its members will:

1. Telecommute
2. Shop from home
3. Bank and manage their wealth online
4. Home school their kids
5. Doctor themselves at home
6. Create much of their entertainment in the home
7. Worship and congregate online
8. Vote and participate in politics from home
9. Run a home-based family enterprise, likely online

Adopting a Web Lifestyle requires many changes. And change is never easy. But the need to change is indeed as necessary as refilling your gas tank. Even such mundane habits have to be rethought. Habits that we may want to change can be tough to shake when they are ingrained in the daily routine. So we tend to cling to the familiar until change becomes essential – like now. As revealed by the Chinese twin characters for “crisis” (wei-ji), change is a mix of both wei (“danger”) and ji (“opportunity”). Opportunity comes when crisis stops you in your tracks. It makes you look, listen, think – and start over.

To begin, it is especially important to be intentional in how we go about our daily lives and how we think through what needs to change. We must rethink our core beliefs. To change your life, you need to recognize the need to change and that embarking on a new stage of life is essential to a happy and successful family lifestyle in the fast-changing world. Clear thinking lets you see what you couldn’t see before, lifting your eyes to a new, shining horizon.

A key step in making a change is intention. If you intend to do something, you set about doing it. Of course, you can procrastinate and try to keep things as they were. But that leaves you trapped in the past, in the “old normal.” We most move forward. As the Chinese say, “The long march begins with the first step.” So you must intend to change; say you are going to change – and mean it.

We need simpler but bigger dreams and simpler but better lives. True dreams are about future living. We need to envision a different future and our place in it. And the decisions we make will shape the resolve of our character and determine that future.

It’s time to start living the future. And I hope you’ll embrace the Web Lifestyle and take some or all of the 9 steps to a better life explored on this website and in my book FUTURE LIVING.

Every day is a new beginning. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. Let it be a “Web Life” for you and your family.

Have a super-fantastic, future-proof future!

And thank you for taking time to browse this website and to read FUTURE LIVING.
